2nd Annual Show of  3 Maine Artists, featuring recent
paintings by Michele Beckstrom, Adele Drake and
Emily Hopkins will be exhibited at the Jean B. Chalmers
Gallery at Lincoln Street Center, 24 Lincoln Street, 2nd floor.


Cream

Adele Drake, The Island, Oil on Panel 16" x 16"

The public is invited to an artist's reception Sunday
August 9th from 4-6 PM. There will be live music and
refreshments will be served. The exhibit will run from
August 4rd - August 29th and will be open weekdays
from 9AM- 1PM. For more information or an appointment

Adele Drake has a Master's of Art from the University
of Pennsylvania and Art Certification from Moore College of Art.  
She has also studied with Mike Lewis at the University of Maine.
Her paintings of rocks are metaphors for relationships.
These visual metaphors are growing into the writing of poems
which will be exhibited with her paintings. Adele lives in Winterport
and will be teaching a course at Waterfall Arts, August 10-14th. 


Beckstrom


Michele Beckstrom, Wish, Watercolor 7" x 9"


Michele Beckstrom studied Art and Architectural-Interior Design
at VCU in Richmond, Virginia. A summer spent studying Design
in Denmark with DIS was influential in her education. 
The essence of the work presented here embodies a given
moment in time in relationship to the natural setting inspiring
the work. This series of new paintings, “Atmospheres” are done
in oil and watercolor. Michele lives in Rockport where she enjoys
gardening and raising her children.

Corialis 

Emily Hopkins, Coriolis, Oil on Panel, 11" x 14"

Emily Hopkins has a BFA from the Pratt Institute and is
currently exhibiting at the Leighton Gallery in Blue Hill and
at the Carver Hill Gallery in Rockport. She will be exhibiting
large and small colorful gestural abstractions emphasizing
rhythms and patterns rooted in the natural world.  Emily's
work is inspired by Eastern philosophies and extensive travels.
Emily lives and works in Lincolnville.
