2nd Annual Show of 3 Maine Artists, featuring recent Adele Drake has a Master's of Art from the University
of Pennsylvania and Art Certification from Moore College of Art. She has also studied with Mike Lewis at the University of Maine. Her paintings of rocks are metaphors for relationships. These visual metaphors are growing into the writing of poems which will be exhibited with her paintings. Adele lives in Winterport and will be teaching a course at Waterfall Arts, August 10-14th.
Michele Beckstrom studied Art and Architectural-Interior Design
at VCU in Richmond, Virginia. A summer spent studying Design in Denmark with DIS was influential in her education. The essence of the work presented here embodies a given moment in time in relationship to the natural setting inspiring the work. This series of new paintings, “Atmospheres” are done in oil and watercolor. Michele lives in Rockport where she enjoys gardening and raising her children.
Emily Hopkins, Coriolis, Oil on Panel, 11" x 14"
Emily Hopkins has a BFA from the Pratt Institute and is currently exhibiting at the Leighton Gallery in Blue Hill and at the Carver Hill Gallery in Rockport. She will be exhibiting large and small colorful gestural abstractions emphasizing rhythms and patterns rooted in the natural world.
