18c valentine

Angela Anderson Pomerleau, 18th Century Valentine , oil on canvas, Private Collection

this painting was on view in the No Rules exhibition, a few years ago
and subsequently sold by Bruce Bosko of Landing Gallery.
I'll try to put up some more recent pictures soon (I'm inept with digital
photography!)I make these paintings allowing gravity and the stains to freely
flow on the sized canvas naturally.  The oil colors are saturated
and soft and the canvas natural and aged.  I am truly romantic
with a desire for more beauty around me.  Love and tenderness
between lovers and/or friends and family is the sweetest and
deepest experience in life.  I am political and rebellious but that’s
not the side of me that these pieces express.

Currently I'm experimenting with acrylics to see if I can get the
same effects without the toxic fumes of oil paint, thanks in part
to Howard Greenberg's suggestion...
