The Artists of LSC Several Artists make LSC their base in Rockland, Maine. Austin Smith, Helen Corning, Hugh Lane, Ryan Mahoney, Gretchen Mahoney, Claire Perry, Diane Hebert, and Mike Dworkin. Pottery Studio Memberships vary in term, available annually for $330 or $27.50 per month. Changing Exhibitions presented in the Jean B. Chalmers Art Gallery often feature studio members. Gallery hours are 9-5 Monday-Friday. On site in the building we have a fully equipped Darkroom, and a beautiful Art Gallery, Jean B. Chalmers Art Gallery (see photo below). There is a Dance Studio, a gymnasium and an old fashioned Theatre Auditorium. We are located right in the heart of the city of Rockland. We offer afterschool classes for kids and teens, summer camp, adult enrichment courses. The Watershed High School, an independent high school is located here on Lincoln Street. The Pottery Studios are equipped with kilms, wheels and have several courses for all ages. Summer 2011 schedule includes Hope Arts Camp for kids and Dance Camp. Adult classes in Art are given by Ron Frontin Wed and Fri 5-8pm. The Jean B. Chalmers Art Gallery at Lincoln Street Center hosts changing exhibitions. Schedule for remainder of 2009: 3 concurrent exhibitions, Dale Dapkins, Lola Tang, Stephen Jane through July , 3 Maine Artists August 1-31, Maria Nevelson Sept 5-Oct 14, Ed Moffitt Oct 17-31. |
