YOGA FREE INTRO CLASS FOR NEW STUDENTS on 9/9 from 5:30-7 p.m. See Below FALL SESSION WEEKLY CLASSES SPECIAL SATURDAYS Cost. Weekly classes are by donation. Suggested donation: $12-15 drop in; $100 for 8 classes (1 class per week); $120 for 10 classes (1 class per week plus two Saturdays); $180 for 16 classes (2 classes per week). *Yoga Retreats: $30-45 suggested donation per retreat. Donations in any amount are graciously accepted. Descriptions Vinyasa Flow. A dynamic and spirit-lifting class in the Kripalu-style. Continuous breath and body flows (vinyasa) will be balanced with sustained postures (asanas), with a focus on building strength and fluidity. Students will be guided in breathwork (pranayama) and meditation-in-motion to access inner energy and increase concentration. Relaxation (savasana) and meditation will support integration at the end of class. This is an intermediate class; previous yoga experience is helpful. Gentle Yoga. A calming and supportive class in the Kripalu-style. This class includes detailed instruction on yoga postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama), as well as an introduction to meditation and yoga philosophy. Learn to tap into your natural ease and allow yoga to support your daily life. This is a gentle class; perfect for beginners, individuals healing injuries and advanced students who want to slow down. Prepare. Wear comfortable clothing; layers are helpful as your body temperature will change over the course of class. Bring a personal yoga mat, if you have one. (The studio has mats and other props to borrow as well. You are encouraged to buy a mat.) Bring water in a closed container if you’d like. Please arrive 5-10 minutes to set up your mat and settle in. New students kindly arrive early to fill out a registration card. PRIVATE LESSONS. Explore yoga for the first time or deepen your practice during one-on-one sessions. Sliding scale: $50-80/hour. Registration is requested: Rachel Nixon, rachelanixon@gmail.com, 207-594-1694 Free Yoga Class on 9/9 in Studio 22 Certified Kripalu Instructor Rachel Nixon invites new students to a free introductory yoga class on Thursday, September 9 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Studio 22 (2nd floor; top of the stairs). Space is limited, and registration is required. The free class will include detailed instruction on yoga poses and practices, and students will explore the benefits of yoga including stress relief, increased strength and flexibility, peace of mind and renewed energy. Nixon's eight-week fall session will begin on September 14 and run through November 6 at the Lincoln Street Center. Fall session classes are by donation, and students may sign up for the entire session or drop in. Rachel Nixon has practiced yoga since 2001, and she received her teaching certificate from the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in 2006.
