Tradition Black and White Photography Class for Kids
Studio Member Ryan Mahoney offers new Kids Photography Class in 2010 Students will learn about traditional photography using film and 35 mm cameras, hands-on in the darkroom at Lincoln Street. Knowledge of the basic camera controls, pricipals of exposure, film developing and printing photographs in the darkroom will be taught. Students will have to bring their own 35mm film and camera. This class will run for 8 weeks. Start date to be announced, at press time, we are shooting for a February first class. Please Register as space is limited.
Ryan Mahoney is a native of Rockport, Maine and resides
in Camden with his wife Gretchen and their two children.
After a career of 13 years in Public Relations with a California
Corporation, he is now a full-time student at the University of
Maine at Augusta.
Currently pursuing his Bachelor of Arts degree, he has been
exploring 2D Design, 3D Design, Architecture, Digital Imaging,
Drawing, Collage, Painting, Photography and Watercolor.
Ryan spent the past year experimenting with digital photography
and various watercolor techniques using unconventional methods.
In Spring 2008, Ryan had his work chosen for a juried exhibition
at the Danforth Art Gallery, Augusta and recently had a work
purchased for a private collection. Spring 2009 he exhibited in Studio Art Works at the Jean B. Chalmers Gallery, Lincoln Street Center. He and his wife Gretchen share a studio at the Lincoln Street Center for Arts and Education.
